Handstamped Mummy Necklaces!

I've been embarking on a new crafty adventure - handstamped jewellery!

My lovely hubby bought me some supplies for my Birthday. I also bought some supplies (I won't even go into how expensive this new hobby is!) and slowly my collection is building.

Anyhoo, I set up a Facebook page a few weeks ago and already have 170 fans and in the last few days I've received 5 orders! Exciting stuff.

It's such a shame that I have to get all my supplies from the USA because there's nowhere that sells what I need in the UK. I'm running really low on stock and getting lots of enquiries so need to stock up fast.

Here's a special necklace I made a couple of days ago... Let me know what you think :)

New Chromebook Cover :)

I turned the dreaded 30 this month so to cheer myself up treat myself I've bought a new Samsung Google Chromebook.

As I sit here waiting for it to be delivered I decided to make myself a new case for it (because every new electrical purchase deserves a new accessory!). I went off the measurements given on the Amazon website and added 1.5" to the length and depth. I used iron on velcro as my machine doesn't like sewing it on. I've left one piece unattached for now so I can see the fit and know where to best place it when it gets here. It's lined with soft fleece too. I keep meaning to add tutorials so I will do a tute for this at some point this week.

Here it is... lets hope it fits!!!

Henry has chickenpox :(

This week has been hard. After not sleeping all night (no exaggeration!), Henry woke up with spots on his face and legs. After a trip to the docs he confirmed my suspicion that he has chickenpox. It's awful to see him so itchy and unwell but after 4 days they are starting to clear up. He's feeling much better although still not eating much.

I've been thinking about taking up jewellery making - yet another craft that I will probably get bored of after a month as my hubby pointed out. We shall see!

It's my Birthday on the 25th. I'm going to be the big 30. I can't believe it. I'm officially a grown up!

Extra Long Sock Monkey Finished!

My lovely hubby picked me up some toy stuffing and wadding from John Lewis on the way home so I got to work finishing my sock monkey. It took a lot of hand sewing but I'm pleased with the result.

I just need to choose a name for him, package him up and send him to my cousins little boy Gabriel who collects them.

Happy New Year!

Happy New Year!

I've decided this year is going to be wonderful. I'm going to make a living from doing something creative - what exactly I'm not sure yet! I'd like to have another baby too. That's not too much to ask is it?!

Craft wise I'm going to be setting up a Facebook Page and instead of making things to order, I will make things and sell them as I go. That way there's no pressure to make things over and over.

I spent NYE babysitting and sewing an extra long sock monkey for my cousins little boy. I really need to invest in a new sewing machine that can take a walking foot because sewing a sock is hard work!! Starting the new year with a little hand-sewing can't be bad. It's a shame the shops are closed today because I've ran out of toy stuffing!

Here's what I have so far. Any name suggestions?

Christmas Gifts

It's that time of year when it's already dark by the time you get home from work, there's a chill in the air and you can't help thinking it's Christmas time soon.

Every year I say I'll make as many handmade gifts as I can but last year I was too busy making orders for my online shop at the time. This year, I am determined.

We also have a Christmas fair coming up at work. I'm organising stalls selling gifts, mulled wine and hot snacks such as pretzels, crepes and German sausages. I'm going to have a little stand selling handmade nipple tassels (as we are a burlesque supper club and maybe some other nik naks such as funky cushions.

I ordered some craft supplies today from the best online shop Paper & String. I want to buy everything Sarah stocks!

Things on the list for pressies this year include:
Cookie Mixes
Candy
Personalised Canvas Bags

What kind of things do you make for Christmas gifts?
